Touch Screen Pen – Extension of your Digits
What is it?
Touch Screen Pen (iDuo) is a tablet/smartphone-focused stylus/pen that can be used with literally any device equipped with capacitive display. Capacitive display operates by sensing a small electrical charge given off by human skin, which is why you can’t use your touchscreen device with gloves on. It enables very precise touches with minimal pressure, as well as extra functionality like multi-touch, but it means the only stylus you can use with capacitive screens are specialized products that conducts that electrical charge through a capacitive nib. There’s many styli available on the market so what makes this Touch Screen Pen different?
Well, the hint is in its name.
It incorporates an actual ballpoint pen cartridge in addition to the capacitive nib which is not inconsequential. Pen cartridge provides the stylus with extra weight which balances the pen at a comfortable angle, while the rubber nib allows it to slide smoothly across the screen. You can comfortably type, scroll and turn pages which will be enough for most of the users. Drawing however is slightly more problematic as the nib’s diameter makes it difficult to focus on a section of detailed work. Although we managed to tackle this issue by zooming the image canvas, we came to a conclusion that it can be quite problematic for users working on the tablets. To achieve any sort of precision I had to grip the stylus close to the nib, which became a bit uncomfortable after some time, nevertheless I managed to make nice, clean shadow lines and lovely, vibrant inking.
I found the stylus end of the Touch Screen Pen adequate for both writing and sketching. It’s just heavy enough to provide the right balance for writing without needing to put your palm on the screen; however, its weight may prove taxing if you’re trying to write for long periods of time.
Bottom line: If you’re looking for a device that can navigate, write, sketch, and jot down paper notes, the touchscreen stylus pen iDuo 2-in-1 is a decent offering and it will work really well as a promotional gadget. I’m sure you can imagine it with the logo of your company on the side. If that’s what you’re looking for, just contact James at Steel City Marketing. However, unless you’re specifically looking for a stylus with a ballpoint pen, you should consider a more specialized model.
